The Bear Pit Theatre to Hold its First Film Festival

As part of The Bear Pit Theatre's commitment to showing films for the local community, they are to hold their first Film Festival from 16 - 20 July to give local people an opportunity to go along and watch films from different genres, but with something in common.
Simon Allen, Leader of The Bear Pit Community Cinema Film Team said, “As we are very much the Community Cinema of Stratford upon Avon, it was logical to choose the theme for the first festival, being on films made in or about Stratford or South Warwickshire.
“When investigating, however, we were disappointed to discover that the available films are a little limited to those majoring on William Shakespeare and we didn’t want a Shakespeare Film Festival, even though we have included him, which was inevitable.

What's On
“We hope the selection of films appeals and that people will come along and enjoy at least one of our offerings to see how the Bear Pit Community Cinema works. We will continue to provide a facility for the local community to view both recent and important films from the past, particularly British, whilst enjoying a good value social evening, which is what the Bear Pit has become known for, as well as the high quality theatre productions which we put on.
“On behalf of the Film Team, David Derrington, Colin Edwards and myself, I am very grateful for the opportunity of curating the first Film Festival and look forward to welcoming you to one or more of our screenings.”
Simon went on to thank Stratford Town Trust and One Stop Trust for helping them to purchase their projector and screen.
