Springboard Festival offers a packed week of performances

Springboard Festival, Criterion Theatre, Earlsdon, Coventry. 25 March – 1 April

Preview by Alison Manning

The Criterion Theatre, in Earlsdon, Coventry, is hosting a week-long festival of performing arts over eight days from Saturday 25 March to 1 April 2023. The Springboard festival will bring together a collation of professional amateur, and community and professional companies and artists. It offers a chance to try out something different in a dynamic and supportive setting. They want to blur boundaries, move margins and expand fringes.

The festival programme features musicians, poets, art and plays, including ones by Lucy Kirkwood, Fin Kennedy, Martha Haddon Allpress and a premiere by Karen Ewing, all performed by the Criterion’s company.

Andrew Sharpe, the Festival Producer, commented: “We want to and show off our fabulous little theatre and its community, as we strive to provide opportunities for emerging artists of all ages and backgrounds. As with everything we do, the Criterion Theatre is committed to producing diverse and inclusive art and serving as a catalyst for community creation though an active workshop and resident artist programme, details are being finalised at present.”
