Rugby, the much-loved Festival on The Close returns to Rugby this year with an exciting programme packed with headline performances, unforgettable music, comedy, and live theatre. As the festival approaches its ten-year anniversary, organisers promise a spectacular celebration of live performance for audiences of all ages, and all in support of Rugby’s Bradby Club, the local charity dedicated to empowering young people in our community.

This year’s headliners include award-winning comedian Sara Pascoe, bringing her sharp wit and hilarious observations to the stage, and beloved storyteller Michael Rosen, celebrating his 80th birthday with a joyful, engaging performance. Music lovers can revel in the soulful sounds of Absolute Amy, the ultimate Amy Winehouse tribute featuring her original guitarist Robin Banerjee, and the electrifying all-girl brass ensemble She’s Got Brass. Opera fans are also in for a treat with London Festival Opera performing a stunning programme of world-class arias, duets, and orchestral highlights in A Night at the Opera.

Alongside the main stage events, the festival continues its strong commitment to young people, offering an extensive programme of performances and workshop opportunities for students across Warwickshire to collaborate with professional artists and explore new creative disciplines.


Over six days, additional events will take place across Rugby School’s stunning grounds and venues, from outdoor performances and interactive theatre to intimate chamber concerts and family-friendly activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

“At its heart, the festival remains a celebration of community,” says Festival Director Tim Coker, “supporting the work of local Rugby charity The Bradby Club and bringing people together through shared cultural experiences.
