Bridge House Theatre announces Christmas productions

The Bridge House Theatre, Warwick present three plays around Christmastime. A Christmas Carol: Being a Ghost Story of Christmas on Saturday 28 November, Wind in the Willows on Friday 18 December and The Twelve Days of Christmas on Monday 21 December.

If someone were to say there were only 140 shopping days to Christmas there would probably be a collective groan, as most people would prefer to enjoy the summer and autumn before even thinking about Christmas. However the Bridge House Theatre in Warwick is already making preparations for Christmas with three varied plays listed for the end of November and December.

Each play is for one night only but these really are a case of quality not quantity as the production companies performing them are top quality award wining professionals and guarantee first rate entertainment in whichever genre they are.

A Christmas Carol: Being a Ghost Story of Christmas is Dickins’ classic for that season with multiple characters. However Dyad Productions director Rebecca Vaughan allows Andrew Margerison to display his versatility and talents as he takes on every role, from the poor and humble Bob Cratchit to the jovial and generous Fezziwig. This will be performed on Saturday 28 November.

Contrasting with the Christmas theme of Dickins and pantomimes, Paperback Theatre bring a delightfully child-friendly play to the Bridge House Theatre. Their talented cast will perform Wind in the Willows. Ratty, Badger, and of course Toad, must team up to eject the assorted weasels, ferrets and stoats from Toad Hall. This will promises lashings of fun on Friday 18 December.

Just in time for Christmas a few days later on Monday 21 December, Operation Moonlight performs The Twelve Days of Christmas. Sir Edward is in love with Miss Elizabeth and decides to show his affection by showering her with gifts. Mayhem ensues as three actors play over 30 parts in this wonderfully side-splitting farce.
