Blithe Spirit is a classic comedy by Noël Coward, full of sharp wit, unexpected twists, and a few ghostly goings-on.
It follows Charles Condomine, a novelist who invites a local medium round for a séance as research for his next book. Unfortunately for him, it works a little too well—and the ghost of his late (and rather mischievous) first wife Elvira is soon causing all kinds of trouble for his current marriage.
The Saints are putting their own spin on this much-loved play, aiming to bring out all the humour, chaos and charm that Coward was so brilliant at. It promises to be a great night out, full of laughs and larger-than-life characters.
During the run, they are also raising money for Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme is Community, which feels especially fitting for the group.
Speaking on behalf of the Saints Drama Group, Chelle Will Umton said: “Local theatre is all about people coming together—whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience—and we’re proud to be part of that.”
