The Comedy Club at Stratford Playhouse has a trio of comedians appearing on Thursday 29 June. Firstly, there’s Barbara Nice, a comic who reached the semi-finals of Series 13 of Britain's Got Talent. A firm believer in getting the most out of life, her creator Janice Connolly was recently awarded the British Empire medal in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list!

After a successful BBC Radio 2 Comedy Showcase pilot in 2015, she was commissioned for a full series in March 2017. Bargain hunter Barbara doesn’t drive and travels the country by National Express coach. Her husband knows nothing of her burgeoning comedy career, he thinks she’s either at bingo or dog sitting.

As seen on Coronation Street, That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy’s Road To Nowhere amongst others.

Mamoun Elgab is a rising star on the live comedy scene, Mamoun’s natural flair has made him a winner and finalist of numerous comedy competitions, including Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year and BBC New Comedy Awards. As seen as part of the prestigious Pleasance Reserve programme, Edinburgh Fringe 2019.

Carey Marx has been a circuit favourite for years, mixing his own blend of dark humour with his mischievous and gleeful delivery. His wilful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places. This hilarious mix of edgy topics and playful gagsmithery can be seen at all the top clubs across the country with Marx regularly playing Jongleurs, Komedia and The Comedy Store and annually compering the largest festivals.
