Birmingham Rep and Polka Theatre are proud to present the out-of-this-world stage adaptation of Sir Lenny Henry‘s hilarious children's book, The Boy with Wings, adapted by Arvind Ethan David, and directed by Daniel Bailey.

This is the story of one boy’s interstellar, action-packed quest to save the galaxy...

Tunde is an ordinary 12-year-old boy who just wants to hang out with his best friends and practice parkour, but his adoptive Ma won’t let him play any sports, let alone do anything DANGEROUS! But Tunde’s had enough of playing it safe and when his late-night freerunning goes wrong – he suddenly sprouts giant wings!

Crashing back to earth with his new feathery accessories, he meets a fur-ocious feline from the planet Furlean, and discovers that his dad isn’t away on business after all… he’s a powerful alien warrior who needs Tunde’s help.

Aided by a chirpy chorus of birds, his rap-battling besties and his new-found powers, Tunde is ready to fly in the face of danger and save the world.
