Sweet Sorrow Theatre Company present Dr Faustus at The Bear Pit Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, from 15 – 18 October.

This autumn, Sweet Sorrow Theatre Company presents Christopher Marlowe’s 400-year old masterpiece about the greed, want and sin which exists in all of us. 


Doctor Faustus, a learned scholar, makes a deal with the Devil, selling her soul to receive wealth, knowledge... and infamy. Through morality trials, magical visions and misadventures with the enigmatic Mephistophilis, Faustus learns to enjoy this new-found power... until she realises the cost of the deal she has made.  


This promises to be Sweet Sorrow’s biggest and boldest production yet, as they bring their trademark fun and passion to Marlowe's timeless tale of sin and devilry. They add that this could not be possible without their incredibly talented cast and crew which includes Catherine Grimhilde as Dr Faustus and Paige Calvert as Mephistophilis.
