Screams and Laughter at Pumpkin Hollow

Pumpkin heads! The writer and daughters.

Pumpkin Hollow and Drive-In Horror cinema. Two autumn events leading up to Halloween at Hatton Country World, Warwick taking place over 5 nights on 7, 14, 21, 28 and 31 October, from 6pm to 10pm.

Review by Ann Evans

Hats off to Hatton Country World for their fabulous Pumpkin Hollow event! And well done me for braving their creepy cabins!

Step inside a pumpkin-themed world illuminated with lights and fun spookiness, as you walk the pathways towards the creepy cabins where costumed actors are waiting to greet you – at least we hope they are costumed actors, or you’ll be coming face to face with the Grim Reaper and others scary souls.

One of the creepy cabins.

There’s a real fun atmosphere aimed specially at adults, and while children and well-behaved dogs are admitted, it’s recommended they keep well away from the creepy cabins! Fortunately, there is an alternative route down to the pumpkin field avoiding them.

It has to be said, that the organisers have ‘decorated’ each cabin brilliantly. You just don’t know who or what you’re going to encounter as you enter into the fun of it.

Meet the witch with a temper but not a bit camera shy!

Once you reach the vast Pumpkin field, you can take your pick of the hundreds of pumpkins spread out under the moonlight. Yes they’ve even arranged for the moon to shine over the pumpkin patch. And if you wonder why there’s a telephone box standing in the middle of the field, there’s only one way to solve the mystery, and that’s to answer its ringing – if you dare!

Pick a pumpkin, any pumpkin.

As well as the cabins, the illuminated walkways and the pumpkin picking, there’s much more to your evening. There’s a large marquee with live music playing all evening. You can sit inside or out, enjoy a drink from the Bewitching Bar selling alcoholic drinks or have something to eat, with street food selling fish and chips and other snacks including doughnuts and marshmallows which you can toast over the fire pits nearby.

Eat, drink and enjoy the music.

An awesome Autumn Night Out, with lots of opportunities to take selfies and capture unforgettable memories and frightful moments.

The second of Hatton’s special Autumn Nights Out is to book for the Drive-In Cinema experience, which can be added on to your Pumpkin Hollow night or booked as a separate activity. There are two movie screenings shown on each date of the 5 nights, one at 6.30pm and one at 9.30pm. The films will include Saw, Friday 13th, Hocus Pocus, Scream, Rocky Horror, Beetle Juice, The Addams Family, Nightmare on Elm Street, Ghostbusters, and Final Destination.

Tickets are available online priced at just £5 each or £6 on the gate for Pumpkin Hollow. Once the pumpkins have been picked, the till team will use size rings to determine the price which will range from 50p to £10. Dates for Pumpkin Hollow are: 14, 21, 28 and 31 October, from 6pm to 10pm.

Tickets for the Drive-in Cinema are £29.95 per car with no access to Pumpkin Hollow or £39.95 per car which includes 4 passes to Pumpkin Hollow. Wellington boots are highly recommended, along with waterproofs and warm clothing.

Halloween fun!
