Panto at Bedworth Civic Hall again!

Jack and the Beanstalk presented by PR Productions, at Bedworth Civic Hall, from 13 – 24 December.

Preview

A fabulous new panto at the newly re-opened Bedworth Civic Hall will be drawing in the crowds this December. Jack and the Beanstalk is being staged by PR Productions. This classic tale of good versus evil promises bags of laughs, a whole host of audience participation, songs, silliness and great deal of slapstick for both children and adults.

The Panto is written by Paul Gibson, Rob Hiatt & Ray Durkin; Directed by Paul Gibson – www.paulgibson.tv; Music & Lyrics by Andrew Mackereth; Choreographed by Lisa Gibson; Musical Director Joanna Clark.

PR Productions was established back in 2001 for their first production of Aladdin at The Abbey Theatre in Nuneaton. There followed 16 years of sell out success at the venue as their team created some of the most spectacular set pieces ever seen in Pantoland.

Due to the care, wit and enthusiasm employed in the creation of the company’s 16 Pantomimes as well as gathering the most incredibly talented cast and dancers it is no wonder that they created quite a storm and gathered an enviable reputation both far and wide, receiving five star reviews year after year and selling out long before the curtain had ever risen. So leap forward 8 years and now they are back at the newly reopened Bedworth Civic Hall, ready to do it all again and create the must see panto of the season.

A spokesperson for PR Productions said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the Civic Hall as it feels like we’ve returned to our roots having written our very first version of Jack and the Beanstalk for this very stage back in 1996. How can that be 28 years ago? We promise we’ve updated the jokes so why not join us for the most entertainingly outrageous, family friendly night you will spend at the theatre this year.”

The show is under the creative leadership of Nuneaton based director Paul Gibson (Director of Midsomer Murders, Father Brown & Sister Boniface) who also spent 9 years co-directing the Belgrade Panto in Coventry. Written by local team Paul, Rob Hiatt and Ray Durkin the show is everything you would expect from a traditional family pantomime and more. Cast from some of the finest (non-professional) talent in the region as well as two teams of over 50 local dancers the show has all the hallmarks of a roaring success.

Sam Margrave, Chair and CEO, Bedworth Civic Hall CIO said: “Following the enormous effort and astonishing commitment of the local community, Bedworth Civic Hall is now reopening its doors and we are excited to be partnering with PR Productions to put on our first Christmas Pantomime since 2019. This is year is going to be the best panto we've ever had so make sure you book tickets before they are sold out."

The Gala Performance is on Friday 13 December. This is the official opening night so there will be something a little special – a complimentary glass of fizz or soft drink on arrival, sweets for the children and a few extra surprises along the way.

A Relaxed Performance is on Thursday 19 December. This relaxed performance has been adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to the theatre. These performances are ideal for people with learning disabilities or autism, or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment. There will also be an area where you and the people you come with can go to if you need quiet time during the show. In this area the show will also be shown on a TV so you won't miss a thing. This show is open to all and aims to promote inclusivity within our community.

Tickets start from only £12 and can be obtained from Ticketsource or from www.prproductions.biz
