There’s lots going on at Warwick Arts Centre this February Half Term (covering Saturday 14 February to Sunday 22 February 2026). Classic tales, woodland adventures,  revolting science experiments, free workshops, magic and more!

Writer Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s beloved stories come to life in Tales From Acorn Wood Live (Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 February 2026). Packed full of toe-tapping songs and puppetry this colourful show for all ages features charming adaptations of Rabbit's Nap, Fox's Socks, Hide-and-Seek Pig and Postman Bear.

When the council threatens to cut down her favourite tree, young Bettie sets out to save a woodland and its critter crew in Brave Bettie (Sunday 15 Feb 2026). A magical woodland adventure told through poetry, songs, live music and stories, this Half Moon and Z-arts co-production explores themes of resilience, self-belief and our bond with nature.

 

Keeping broadly with the natural world theme, Family Concert: Peter and The Wolf (Sunday 15 Feb 2026) sees Warwick Chamber Orchestra present composer Sergei Prokofiev's enduring musical folk tale as the young Peter spots a ferocious wolf emerging from the forest …

The always entertaining Stefan Gates is back with a thrilling new show packed with spectacular experiments, stunts and bizarre props. Expect such cheeky delights as enormous bottoms, fart machines, pee-powered fireworks and vomiting mannequins as Rude Science Live! (Tuesday 17 February 2026) presents a lesson in science like no other.

Academy Award nominated family fantasy adventure film The Secret of Kells heads to the cinema for a series of relaxed screenings. (PG, Saturday 14, Sunday 15, Wednesday 18, Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 February 2026). As the vicious Vikings approach, the young Cellach is recruited to complete a series of dangerous, magical tasks in a beautifully animated tale inspired by Celtic mythology and illuminated manuscript, The Book Of Kells.

James Phelan makes the impossible possible in The Man Who Was Magic (Friday 20 February 2026). The UK's number one magic show, it's a dazzling production, where secrets unravel, and you're left aching with laughter and dizzy in disbelief.


Other family-friendly things to do at the Coventry Arts Centre over the February 2026 Half Term include Family Sundays (Sunday 15 & Sunday 22 February 2026, 1.30pm-4pm) - a free weekly drop-in creative session for all the family; Creative Socials: Lunar New Year (Wednesday 18 February 2026, 1.30pm-4pm) - a free weekly artist-led workshop designed to unlock your creativity; and Family Singing (Sunday 22 February 2026, 11.30am) - a chance for all the family to get singing and moving together.


Meanwhile, younger visitors can also enjoy Mini Creatives (Tuesday 17 February 2026, 10.30am) - the weekly multi-sensory space for early years; and My First Concert: We Will Rock You (Thursday 19 February 2026) - a relaxed concert for babies, children and their adults.
