Coming to the Bear Pit Theatre.

The city of Ankh-Morpork is under attack from all sides. Their only defence? The City’s fumbling, unskilled (and sometimes drunken) Night Watch, headed up by a cynical Captain Vimes. When Carrot, an over-enthusiastic, over-keen, and over-literal young Lance Corporal joins their ranks, Terry Pratchett’s trademark wit, silliness, and irreverence comes to the fore (as well as an orangutan librarian and a tiny swamp dragon) as they fight for the future of Ankh-Morpork itself.

Guards! Guards! may be just one of the adaptations from Pratchett’s beloved fantasy Discworld sequence, and yet it can be enjoyed in its own right, as well as by long-time Pratchett fans. Get your tinfoil helmets and wooden swords at the ready for an adventure of a lifetime (in a world that rests on the back of a turtle atop four elephants)!

Directed by Lynda Jepson (All My Myself, The Woman in White), the ensemble cast includes Adam Schumacher as Vimes, Emerson Fairclough as Carrot, and Steph Jepson-Sensicle as Lady Ramkin, alongside familiar faces Gill Hines, Chloe Jane Wiltshire, Georgina Monk, Edythe Wurtzler, Annette O’ Hara, Steve Farr, and Tim Guest (as the voice of the dragon). There are also a host of new faces, including Alexander Brown as Wonse, as well as Adam Sensicle, Steve Dean, Emily Dean, Phil Sensicle, Lucy Gurney, and Louise Partridge.

Running from 1-4 July, with performances starting at 7.30 pm (and a 2:30 matinee on the 4 July) get your tickets at https://secondthoughts.org.uk/bookings/, on 0333 666 3366, or on the door from one hour before the performance, depending on availability. Some performances already have limited availability, so snap up your tickets now to avoid disappointment!
