"Community" is a sweet, funny play about three friends making their mild way through the challenges of modern life in Birmingham.
Written by Birmingham writer Farrah Chaudhry and directed by Alice Chambers, "Community" is most definitely 'brim full of Brum' with references to all things local, from the names of the bus stops to the everlasting rivalries with Wolverhampton and Edgbaston.

There's some poignant story telling amongst life at the community centre, with luscious helpings of poetry and humour, as well as some shopping stories at local and well known stores.
Zoya (Sabrina Nabi), Leyla (Kerana Jagpal) and Khalil (Sayyid Aki) create warmth and community through working together and supporting each other through their various traumas. Each character exhibits personal growth as they come to terms with the life they feel they are destined to live.

They each find solace and purpose as they step into their futures in this modern day morality tale about pulling together, forgiving each other and learning how to build more than "bricks and paint".
Community runs at The Rep until 8 February before making a two week tour of community venues across the West Midlands (11-22 February) https://www.birmingham-rep.co.uk/news/community-community-tour/
