The Bear Pit – A Little Theatre with Big Ideas!

Be a Bear Pit Theatre Company Volunteer: You’re invited to a Volunteer Celebration Evening on Friday 15 September 7.30-9pm.


Get involved! As a volunteer-run community theatre, the Bear Pit in Stratford-upon-Avon is inviting anyone with some time and enthusiasm to spare to join them as a volunteer. No experience is necessary and you can get involved in any aspect of their theatre.


The Bear Pit can offer exciting possibilities to share skills and experiences within a dynamic and ambitious arts organisation. They are always looking for volunteers to help with the work they do, whether your interest is in acting, sound, lighting, set design, set construction, marketing and promotion, backstage or front of house.


Roger Ganner, Chairman at the Bear Pit says, “Volunteers play a crucial role in the Bear Pit Team’s success. Making new friends, gaining skills and practical work experience are all benefits of volunteering as well as getting out and about.


“We are continually on the look out to expand our fabulous team to support the exciting schedule we have in store for 2024. Why not come along and speak to members of the team to find out what we do and see if there is any role that might take your fancy.


“We are holding an open evening on Friday 15 September between 7.30pm and 9pm at the Bear Pit on Rother Street, Stratford-upon-Avon. It will be an informal opportunity to find out more about how you can become a member of our great team.”


There will be current volunteers on hand to answer any questions you may have and let you know what the roles entail in areas including:


Front of House: Ushers, bar staff, duty managers, box office.

Stage management, lighting and sound, costumes and props, set building and design, publicity and marketing.
