The acclaimed West End production of the classic courtroom thriller visits Birmingham Rep as part of national tour

Bill Kenwright Ltd’s acclaimed production of Twelve Angry Men is back in session!   Hailed as ‘the classiest, most intelligent drama playing in the West End’, the stage adaptation of the 1957 three-time Academy Award nominated film, will visit Birmingham Rep from 21 – 26 September 2026 as part of a national tour.

David Gilbery, CEO of the Bill Kenwright Group, said: “Twelve Angry Men remains one of the greatest courtroom dramas ever written – a true masterclass in suspense and storytelling that asks timeless questions about justice, prejudice and the courage it takes to stand alone. We are thrilled to be bringing our acclaimed production back to audiences across the UK with such a tremendous cast.”

A jury has murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a huge dilemma, as prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial, and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax…

The cast is led by Gray O’Brien, best known for his portrayal of Tony Gordon in Coronation Street and whose stage roles include and A Game Called Malice,  Bill Ward, who is currently touring in the acclaimed stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption and whose TV roles include Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street and James Barton in Emmerdale, Ricky Norwood who played Fat Boy in EastEnders, Tristan Gemmill, who starred as Dr Adam Trueman in Casualty and whose stage roles include The Bodyguard in the West End, and Ben Nealon, who played Captain Jeremy Forsythe in Soldier Soldier.

Completing the line-up are Paul Beech (The Crucible – Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, The Last Confession – Chichester Festival Theatre), Graham Elwell (The Shawshank Redemption - UK tour, The Bodyguard – UK tour), Jeffrey Harmer (An Inspector Calls – UK tour, The Shawshank Redemption - UK tour), Mark Heenehan (Avenue 5 – HBO TV, Jersey Boys - West End and UK tour), Kenneth Jay (Woman In Black – West End, Wonder Woman 1984 – Warner Brothers), Paul Lavers (Catch Me If You Can – UK tour, The Flood – Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch), Owen Oldroyd  (The Shark Is Broken - UK tour, The Shawshank Redemption – UK tour) and Micquel Pereira (professional stage debut).
