It’s Miniatura time once more! The fabulous show of all things miniature crafted by some of the best miniaturists in the country. Make sure you have your tickets to enjoy this incredible event.

Miniatura has been running since 1983, founded by Muriel and Bob Hopwood and now under the expert eye of son Andy. The show takes place in Spring and Autumn and you can count on this particular show to have lots of miniatures on offer for the Halloween and Christmas seasons.

Around 130 of the most talented craftspeople around will be setting up their stands. There are also a range of workshops, demonstrations and talks lined up – so lots of opportunities to learn from the experts.

And amongst those experts doing demonstrations and answering your questions will be:

Bea Broadwood (from Petite Properties).

David Bishop Wiring Questions & Answers.

Entranced Glassworks Glass Blowing.

Criss Cross Miniatures – Furniture Making.

WHB Miniatures – Needlework.

Expect stalls brimming with fabulous miniature creations from clothing, hats, handbags, foodstuffs, furniture, garden accessories, flowers – in fact you name it and there will be breathtaking miniatures on offer in 1:12, 1:24 and often 1:48 scale. Additionally, some stands will be putting on miniature displays or exhibiting their furnished houses just to show what is possible.

Not that miniatures are all about looking beautiful. Many artisans are going for the realistic, grittier side of life. Check out Graham Bolton Miniatures for example. Graham makes room boxes and corner scenes that show the harsher side of life. Or Crawl Space for realistic urban scenes. Crumpled and Rumpled hand-sculpts realistic 1:12 scale characters; while Sweet Pea Sculpts goes for the wildly unusual. Every stand brings you something different and breathtaking.

You certainly don’t need a dolls house to enjoy Miniatura, but if you do intend treating yourself to one, the range of houses in scales from 1:12 down to 1:48 (and smaller in some cases) offer so much choice in style and period. You’ll find all kinds of houses from cottages to grand town houses; from little French bistros to fantasy woodland dwellings.

The hall is spacious with wide aisles, so fine for wheelchair users. There’s places to sit down and relax between all that browsing and shopping. Hot food, sandwiches and drinks are available from the café Or you could wander down to the Farmers Fayre Café just 100 yards away for a bite to eat.

It’s worth noting that buying from the exhibitors is normally done by cash or credit card – if the dealer has a machine.

Please note there is not a cash machine at the venue, so please come prepared!

There’s ample free parking if you’re coming by car. There’s also a free shuttle bus service from Coventry Train Station.
