Priory Theatre, Kenilworth, review: Meet The Beatles

Meet The Beatles, Priory Theatre, Kenilworth, Sept 19.

In a career spanning only 10 years, the Beatles achieved a staggering 17 number one singles in the UK. They are the best-selling music act of all time, with estimated sales of 600 million units worldwide, and they also hold the record for most number one albums on the UK abums chart (15), most number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (20), and most singles sold in the UK (21.9 million).

Little wonder then, that since their demise in 1970, so many tribute acts have attempted to emulate their successful brand of Merseyside music.

Meet The Beatles are one such tribute act from Warwickshire who have mastered the distinctive look and sound of the Fab Four.

This was the first live show at the Priory after an 18-month covid-enforced closure, and the eager anticipation was evident.

Meet The Beatles didn't disappoint.

With their convincing costumes and their the perfect harmonies, they delivered the most authentic sound and look since the Beatles themselves. The audience didn’t need much persuading to join in with numerous well known songs such as She Loves You, Hello Goodbye and the inevitable Hey Jude.

The hits flowed thick and fast leaving the audience begging for more.

Congratulations also to the Priory team who, during the closure, have been working hard to complete a transformation of their main foyer area. With funky, filament lightbulbs creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere, this is the perfect place to enjoy a pre-show or interval drink.
