‘One Kiss’ and ‘At Last’ are part of ‘In the Spotlight’ a weekend of new and innovative theatre in the Albany’s Spotlight Studio. ‘One Kiss’ presented by One Voice Theatre Company is on Saturday 20 September and ‘At Last’ by James Lewis and Alexander Knott and presented by Proforca Theatre Company is on Sunday 21 September.
One Kiss: An old book, What It Means to Be a Woman, is handed to Georgia on her 16th birthday, becoming the thread connecting three women’s lives. Georgia, a woman in an unhappy marriage to a brutish man. Shirley, her long lost best-friend, now a nightclub singer in New York. Maud, Georgia’s mother, the orchestrator of their downfall. From childhood to motherhood, the book’s secrets are passed from hand to hand, revealing the choices we make and the chances we miss. One Voice Theatre Company proudly presents this one-woman musical, with eight original songs, at the Albany Theatre.
