Belgrade's summer boredom buster for kids
Kids who may be climbing the walls with boredom during lockdown could harness their energies with the Belgrade Theatre's Summer School, aimed at eight to 16-year-olds.
Adapted to meet the latest Covid health and safety guidelines, the socially-distanced sessions will each run for four days, offering youngsters from Coventry and Warwickshire a chance to socialise, get active and exercise their creativity.
The first of the courses ends this week, but there are still places on the second, which runs from August 17 to 20. And the theme this year is Coventry Talking Heads.
Practical, hands-on sessions will include drama games and acting workshops led by the Belgrade’s expert team, and by the end of the week, those taking part will be able to share their own digital performance with family and friends.
No previous drama experience is necessary to take part – just lots of enthusiasm and comfortable clothes and shoes for moving around in.
The sessions run from 10am to 4.30pm, with early drop-off and late pick-up options available for an additional charge – please note that these must be booked in advance.
Take your own lunch! And plenty of water to drink.

If you're not available this summer but still keen to get stuck in, the Belgrade will be bringing back its youth and adult acting classes in the autumn, with weekly sessions due to start on 26 and 25 September respectively, running until the first week of December.
