Fantastic folk line-ups at the Albany Theatre

CV Folk, Albany Theatre The Butts, Coventry.

By Pete Willow, Chair of CV Folk Our guests today, February 13, ( 7pm) are none other than Warwickshire’s fabulous new super-duo, Keith Donnelly and Lauren South. Their musical styles may seem very different but what they have in common is amazing talent, powerful stage presence and the ability thoroughly to entertain. https://www.albanytheatre.co.uk/shows/keith-donnelly-lauren-south-at-cvfolk/ They’ve stepped in at very short notice. We had originally planned to present Bisiker & Romanov but Ralph Allin (aka Al Romanov) had to pull out of the gig through a clash of commitments.

I’m delighted to say that Mick Bisiker will still be there to play a support solo set and the evening also features local singer-songwriter Andi Wolf whose music has been described as ‘deeply introspective, disarmingly honest, lyrically artful and musically potent – a musical first aid kit’. And, for the first time in months, I’ll be venturing onto the stage to play a couple of my own songs. Cellar Tapes will be performing in the Albany Theatre Studio on Sunday March 13, bringing together three great musicians – Andrew Sharpe, Wes Finch and Carol Whitworth – with support from the excellent Steve2 (Stephen Bowyer and Steve Renshaw).

Looking ahead to future 2nd Sunday events at the Albany Theatre : • Apr 10. Michael Luntley's TricaorachFrom This Ground’ + Willow & Tool Band and support • May 8 Kevin Dempsey + support These are both free admission events with the request to contribute generously to the collection caddy. We’re hoping to have Wes Finch and band for our next ticketed event on June 12 and will announce as soon as that is confirmed.
