Burlesque and Cabaret hit the Albany

Tease – Burlesque and Cabaret at The Albany Theatre Coventry on 1 October for one night only.
Review by Ann Evans
Burlesque, cabaret, circus, acrobatics, music and comedy. Tease has it all. This sensational, glamorous show, brought its unique brand of sensuous entertainment to Coventry for one night only, and the audience loved it.
With an excellent host and compare – except she introduced herself faster than I could note down her name, belted out some powerful songs and totally had the audience in the palm of her hand with her wit and personality, as she introduced one fabulous act after another.
Definitely an adults-only show with lots of near nudity, very sexy routines and all which were all very glamorous. Every act was different ranging from the classic ostrich-feathered costumes to pole dancing (with audience participation).
One particularly incredible performance was the dancer using hoops. No idea how many hoops she ended up spinning around her body but it became just a spinning blur of colour – amazing!

The acrobatics were excellent too, with Adam, the show’s ‘stage manager’ who picked up all the discarded garments removed by the dancers after each routine being very popular with the audience and chants for ‘Adam…Adam..’ soon had him showing off his acrobatic skills on a pile of precariously balanced chairs, much to the audience’s delight.
Our hostess/compare involved the audience throughout, so lots of whoops and shouts of encouragement, clapping and laughter. It was definitely an evening where you could – if you wanted to, let yourself go, and have a fun night out.
Tease is on tour for the rest of this year and throughout 2027. Check out when they are next at a theatre near you. https://www.facebook.com/teaseburlesqueandcabaret
