Earlsdon Library is back in business

Our phased approach means that we will be opening up the building in stages. In order to do this, we will need to section off the main Adult Library, the Children's Library and The Reading Room as "volunteer only" spaces. Whilst this means that you won't be able to come in and browse our shelves, use our computers or access the toilet, you will be able to pre-order and collect your books from our reception area using our Select and Collect scheme.

From next week, you'll be able to tell us - either digitally or using a paper based form - which books you would like to borrow from our stock and we will call you to confirm your order and arrange a day for you to collect your books. The forms will be available in hard copy on the (closed) library doors or digitally on our website www.earlsdonlibrary.org.uk. You can either post completed forms through our letterbox or email them back to us. In order to see what books we have available, you can use the online catalogue:

https://librarycatalogue.coventry.gov.uk/igua…/www.main.cls…

However, if you're not sure if we have the book that you're after - or even if you're not quite sure which book you want! - just give us as much information as possible (your favourite authors, the genres that you prefer etc.) and we'll see what we can do.

You'll also be able to pop in to return any library books without incurring a fine whenever we're open but please be warned that you may have to queue outside!

Our new opening hours will be:

Monday 11-1 Tuesday 11-1 Wednesday CLOSED Thursday 11-1 Friday 3-5 Saturday 11-1 Sunday CLOSED

We will also be able to accept any books that you've earmarked for donation during your lockdown clearouts! You'll just need to bring them to our side door (nearest the school) when we're open and we'll happily take them off your hands. We will need to quarantine all donated stock so please be aware that we won't be able to give you back any bags or boxes that you donate your books in.

Rest assured that we have all of our risk assessments, social distance markings and PPE organised so please make sure that you sanitise your hands using one of our hand gel dispensers and put on a face covering before you enter the building.

Obviously we've never done anything like this before so do bear with us as we slowly navigate "the new normal".

We'd like to thank you all for your patience and we hope to see you soon!
