RSC: All shows cancelled up to end of April
Theatres in Coventry & Warwickshire are closing following the latest government advice on controlling the coronavirus outbreak.
The RSC in Stratford was one of the first to announce closure. A statement posted on the theatre's website today (March 16) said: "Following government advice all RSC venues, and venues that the Company is performing at, will close from tonight (March 16). This will be for an undetermined period of time and will remain under review in line with government advice.
"This includes all activity at our Stratford Theatres and at other UK theatres and all of our productions on tour. Please check our website over the next few days for further information regarding future performances.
"If you were due to visit us, our box office team will contact you directly. Please do not contact the box office as they are receiving a large volume of calls."
The RSC updated their website on March 26 to say: "We want to give our audiences as much certainty as possible so we are confirming that all RSC performances and public activities are cancelled up to and including Thursday, April 30."
The Warwick Arts Centre’s April programme of events from April 9 to April 19 is cancelled. Later events are under review in line with government advice. Check the website over the next few days for further information (www.warwickartscentre.co.uk).
The Belgrade in Coventry said today (March 17): "All performances of Blood Brothers and The Twisted Tale of Hansel and Gretel have been cancelled this week. We’ll be sharing information about other upcoming shows as soon as we can, but are still in discussions with other visiting companies at present (http://www.belgrade.co.uk/).
The Criterion in Earlsdon, Coventry, is closed from March 17. A statement on their website says: "We will be sending our further information about tickets and future programming as soon as possible." (https://www.criteriontheatre.co.uk/)
The Albany Theatre, Coventry, is now closed until further notice. They say they will be in touch with people who have bought tickets for forthcoming shows (https://albanytheatre.co.uk/).
At Bedworth Civic Hall all upcoming performances are cancelled until further notice and the box office team will contact ticket holders (civichallinbedworth.wordpress.com).
The Priory Theatre, Kenilworth, (https://www.priorytheatre.co.uk/) and Theatre Absolute, Coventry, (http://www.theatreabsolute.co.uk/) are postponing their productions.

Abbey Theatre, Nuneaton, has closed until further notice for performances and meetings/rehearsals with "profound regret". (https://www.abbeytheatre.co.uk/)
In Leamington, the Royal Spa Centre, Royal Pump Rooms and Leamington Town Hall are now closed indefinitely. They say their box office team will be in contact with ticket holders for events in the next four weeks (Tuesday, March 17 – Tuesday April 14). They ask people not to try to contact the box office (Royal Spa Centre website: warwickdc.gov.uk/royalspacentre).
At the Loft Theatre, Leamington all scheduled productions are postponed. If anyone already has tickets booked for productions in March or April, the box office will be in touch with them.
