Blood Brothers, Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, 17-21 March.
It's more than twenty years since singer and actress Lyn Paul first took the part of Mrs Johnstone in Willy Russell's evergreen musical, and this year's Spring tour, which brings it to the Belgrade stage next week, will be her last.
She's come to be defined as the definitive Mrs Johnstone, the young abandoned mother whose desperate attempts to care for her growing family stand at the core of the story, and has played her in numerous national tours and in the West End.
Originally a school production in Liverpool in 1981, Blood Brothers has gone on to captivate global audiences over three decades with its moving tale of twin brothers, separated at birth and later reunited by a twist of fate and a mother's haunting secret. Brimming with emotionally charged numbers like A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It's Not True, it's become a firm favourite with Coventry audiences over the years and there are bound to be some packed houses to wave Lyn Paul farewell.
