Saints Drama Group, Allesley, preview: Pygmalion

Pygmalion, The Saints Drama Group, Allesley Village Hall, Coventry, Oct 8-12.

The Saints celebrate 60 years of entertaining the Allesley area with this special diamond anniversary production of the George Bernard Shaw play, which became the film My Fair Lady.

John Pease plays Professor Higgins, the arrogant linguist, who claims he can transform flower girl Eliza Doolittle (Megan Holland) into a duchess in six months. His friend Colonel Pickering (Jonathan Greaves) is sceptical.

The Professor's mother (Lucinda Toomey) and housekeeper Mrs Pearce (Juliana Swain) disapprove, but Eliza's father Alfred (Dave Collins) sees that money could be made.

Wealthy Mrs Eynsford Hill (Kate Hill), her son Freddy (Brian McAuley), and daughter Clare (Claire Perryman), all play a part in Eliza’s transformation. Supporting roles are taken by Maria Sheovska and Chris Smith.

Director is David Healey.
