Monsters run free at Bedworth

Monsters Display, Civic Hall, Bedworth, to October 16, admission free If you are looking for somewhere to take the family this summer, think Bedworth! Talented creator Anthony James has a galaxy of monsters on the loose at The Civic Hall.

More than a dozen model aliens from his Creaturama project created from junk are now in residence in the foyer gallery at the High Street. The exhibition was opened by Nuneaton and Bedworth Council Leader Julie Jackson and Bede Ward Councillor Bill Hancox.

Cllr Jackson said: “This really is an excellent display of some of Creaturama’s superb models and I am delighted to see them on show here." “Anthony’s models are created out of waste, and it is an absolutely fantastic example of recycling from a local artist."

Anthony’s Creaturama work has been seen on TV’s Blue Peter and CBeebies Junk Rescue, as well as being the subject of many workshops. He said: “I set up Creaturama in 1992 and one of the pieces on display here is from those days. The other exhibits have been made over the last 20 years and have been on show at places ranging from St Petersburg in Russia, to New York.” Tim Norton, Civic Hall general manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to use this space to benefit the community.” For tickets call 024 7637 6707 or go to
