Nitin back in Coventry with starring film role

Coventry-educated actor Nitin Ganatra (above) is among the stars of the new independent film, Eaten By Lions, which is getting excellent reviews.

The film has a limited distribution but can be seen at the Showcase Cinema, Walsgrave Road, this week, where viewers are being offered a quirky peek at identity as two half-brothers set off on a quest to find one of their missing fathers....starting with advice from a dodgy fortune teller in Blackpool.

Nitin, whose family left Kenya when he was three, grew up in Coventry and went to Coundon Court School and Community College.

He is probably best known for playing Masood Ahmed in the BBC soap opera EastEnders and he has appeared in several films including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Bride and Prejudice. He's keen to point out that no actual lions were involved in his new off-the-wall film!
