Dolly's 80s anthem inspires Abbey musical

9 to 5, Nuneaton Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society, Abbey Theatre, Oct 24-27.

The society may be 98 years old but its much, much younger members are promising a riot of a night out with their latest production 9 to 5.

The title song best known from the film staring Dolly Parton, pictured, is sure to get everyone singing along, dancing in the aisles or at least clicking their fingers at the town's Abbey Theatre.

And what a coup for NAODS. This cult comedy classic based in the 1970s is all set for a professional revival at The Savoy Theatre, London, in January.

Fans of the film will know that Doralee - in this case Vicky Riley - and her downtrodden workmates Violet and Judy live out their wildest fantasy by taking control of the office while their lazy, sexist, bigot of a boss - in truth the rather wonderful Kevin Benson - is otherwise engaged.

And as well as the hit 9 to 5 you can also sing along with other great numbers like: One of the Boys, Shine Like The Sun and I Just Might.

Can't say more than I Just Might mosey on down to the Abbey Theatre myself.
