Oliva Tweest, Belgrade Theatre, October 4 - 6.
Following a sell-out run in London's West End, the UK's first ever Afrobeats musical heads to the Belgrade on a whistle-stop national tour.
Created, produced and directed by radio presenter and producer Yinka Ayinde, Oliva Tweest tells the story of Tobi, a young man with big ambitions, trying to shake off a shady reputation and carve out a career in the music business.
To do so he must navigate comedic and at times explosive clashes with women, family, tradition and his reawakened conscience, all set to a beguiling mix of classic and original hit songs, performed by a live African band, alongside high-energy choreography.
Leading the cast as Tobi will be rising star Luke Wilson, whose West End credits include the Olivier Award-nominated The Scottsboro Boys and Disney's The Lion King.
Latisha Antoine, who stars in the BBC3 drama Excluded, doubles up as Testimony and Joanna, while Emmanuel Imani, currently to be seen in the BBC series Black Earth Rising, plays Pastor Bayodele.
