Evita, Belgrade Theatre, September 25 - 29.
Lucy O'Byrne, hugely popular finalist from TV's The Voice UK, takes the title role in this multi-award winning musical when it comes to Coventry.
If there's anyone out there who still doesn't know about Evita, this glossy Cameron Mackintosh production follows the story of Eva Peron, the wife of Argentine president Juan Peron (played by Mike Sterling) with music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and unforgettable lyrics like Don't Cry For Me Argentina, from Tim Rice.
After captivating TV audiences on The Voice in 2015, Lucy was swept up by theatre director Bill Kenwright and went on to play Fantine in his West End production of Les Miserables before coming to Coventry earlier this year in his touring production of The Sound of Music.
For her starring role as the "spiritual leader of a nation", Lucy will team up with not only Mike Sterling but award-winning Glenn Carter, who plays no less a figure than revolutionary leader Che Guevara, still the iconic inspiration of the left - not to mention the face behind the sales of millions of T-shirts.
Both Mike and Glenn appeared in Les Miserables and Glenn was in the stage and screen versions of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Mike was last seen in the UK revival of High Society and in the West End in Phantom of the Opera.
