Banff Mountain Film Fest rock up in Leam
The Greenland Ice Cap and the Canadian Arctic are among the stars appearing, in all their terrifying grandeur, as the Banff Mountain Film Festival rocks into Leamington's Royal Spa Centre over two nights in March and April.
The prestigious festival goes on world tour each year and among the 16 films of adventure and exploration being given a showing this time is The Frozen Road, in which Yorkshireman Ben Page embarks on a solo bikepacking journey in the Canadian Arctic in search of perfect solitude, and as the mercury drops to -30C, discovers what it really means to travel alone in this great wilderness.
Armchair adventurers will also be able to see Into Twin Galaxies - A Greenland Epic, a tale of heroism and suffering, in which a trio of explorers use kite skies to tow their white-water kayaks 1000 kilometres over the Greenland Ice Cap to reach the northern-most river ever paddled.
