The Foreigner, Saints Theatre Group, Allesley, Coventry. February 13 -17.
Englishman Charlie Baker and his friend Staff Sergeant "Froggy" LeSueur are on holiday at a fishing lodge in Tilghman County, Georgia, deep in the heart of Ku Klux Klan country.
Charlie's only agreed to the trip because his sick wife begged him to go and now, shy and depressed by her illness, he cannot find the words to talk to his fellow guests.
The solution is for Froggy to claim that Charlie is a foreigner, unable either to understand or speak English, and as other guests take this at face value and start revealing their secrets, Charlie stumbles across a whole world of scandals.
Larry Shue's 1985 farce is still popular with audiences and this latest production, directed by Adrian Edgar, sees five new members make their stage debuts for the Saints.
The cast of seven are Jonathan Greaves as Charlie and Kart Murugesan as Froggy, with Lucinda Toomey as Betty Meeks, Aran Eardley (Rev. David E Lee), Helena Reilly (Catherine Simms), Kevin Jones (Owen Musser) and Mark Perryman as Ellard Simms.
The box office is on 07927 319985.
